Position Summary

The Contracts Paralegal supports the Office of the General Counsel and specifically the Attorney responsible for Contracts and Transactional matters. The Contracts Paralegal has primary responsibility for the administration of the contract creation, review, approval and monitoring processes for the organization. The Contracts Paralegal must have familiarity with a variety of contracts and agreements and their underlying terms, structure and administration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

* Manage a high volume of contracts throughout the contracting process, including the intake of contract review requests, conducting initial review, managing markups and modifications, routing contracts for approval and signature, distributing contracts to necessary parties, and maintaining organized files of implemented contracts;

* Draft physician employment agreements based on templates and manage process of approval and execution;

* Coordinate with internal and external clients to ensure contracts are complete;

* Develop and prepare regular reports on the status of contracts;

* Monitor and notify responsible parties of upcoming contract termination dates;

* Play lead role in development and implementation of automated workflow of contract review and approval process in new software; serve as primary administrator of contract management software

* Maintain electronic database of contracts;

* Draft contracts based on templates as well as draft contract renewals, amendments and terminations with minimal supervision;

* Draft legal correspondence;

* Conducted legal research on various matters;

* Assist all attorneys in the Office of the General Counsel, or outside counsel as directed, in various matters, as needed;

* Assist with risk management, legal, compliance and litigation matters, as needed;

* Other duties as assigned.

Education A Bachelor's Degree is required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

Experience Paralegal certificate required with 3-5yrs experience in the preparation, administration and monitoring of contracts. In lieu of Paralegal Certificate and experience, Doctor of Jurisprudence degree may be considered.

Experience in an office setting and using standard office equipment e.g. computer, fax machine, printer, copier, etc.

Intermediate level of proficiency with EXCEL, WORD, Outlook, PowerPoint and other office software applications.

Must be organized, detail oriented with good interpersonal skills.

Must have the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure to meet stated deadlines and unit targets/goals.

Must have the ability to learn new software systems.

Competencies Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Must be able to communicate providing verbal feedback in a professional manner.

Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Must be able to follow instructions and react favorably in all work situations.

Must have strong interpersonal skills and be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people at various levels within and outside the Medical Faculty Associates, Inc.
