Senior Marketing Manager

We are seeking a full-time Senior Marketing & Communications Manager to operate from our DC based company headquarters. We are in search of someone who wants to be part of a dynamic growing company that helps Make Fun Possible through sports, events, and media. This position is part of the United Fray team, supporting all of our markets including DC, Phoenix, Jacksonville, Philly, and more coming soon.

As a twice Inc. 5000 (2016, 2017) company we’re growing rapidly and developing from a social sports company to a sports, lifestyle events and media company. We recently rebranded at the beginning of the new year (formerly known as United Social Sports) and just launched our media arm #FrayLife to help us advance our mission and open an exciting new market position. We are looking for someone to direct our marketing and communications initiatives in an effort to advance this mission. This is a high growth, high opportunity position!

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Acting as an internal agency, you will lead the development and directly execute innovative marketing and communication strategies to expand awareness for our brand, social sports leagues, events, and media for each of our markets across the US, including DC. Under your guidance and leadership, you will have the opportunity to expand our marketing and creative team as our brand and reach expands.

YOU MUST:
Be an expert at social media planning and writing, media planning, management of marketing budgets of $200K and above, managing external agencies, managing team members, planning communications strategies, and willing to roll up sleeves, get to work, and have some fun while you are doing it!

Have deep knowledge of analytics and be able to take actionable insights from the data – You'll identify which campaigns are having the greatest impact. You’ll manage and measure the effectiveness of our owned, earned and paid media campaigns, from start to finish, including print, digital, social and experiential. You have a deep understanding of how to effectively reach customers at every touch point, whether it’s online, on the field, or around town across each of our product lines (sports, events and media). Deep knowledge of analytics tools, as it relates to marketing objectives

Be able to organize complex projects – You’ll handle multiple and shifting priorities with ease. You’ll create and manage our campaign timelines, budgets and plans, and project manage. You’ll be able to track the ROI of our marketing efforts and make real-time adjustments to optimize, as needed. In areas where you are not experienced, you are able to learn and adapt quickly.

Be a leader – You’ll be responsible for carving out new systems and processes to manage a small team with hybrid roles. You have an entrepreneurial streak with a can-do attitude. You strive to contribute to a results-focused company culture. You’re as much of a "doer” as you are a planner.

Work smart, play often – You love working flexible hours with lean, scrappy teams and enjoy doing a little bit of everything in a fast-paced environment. You’re highly self-motivated, outgoing and collaborative, especially under pressure. You treat your coworkers like members of a winning team and know how to have fun both in and out of the office.

YOU SHOULD HAVE:
10-12+ years in marketing experience

BA/BS or higher in relevant field

Project management experience

Strong writing and communications skills, demonstrated across multiple channels, including email, web and print

Web publishing experience using dynamic content management systems (i.e. Wordpress)

Skilled in managing production timelines for multiple marketing deliverables

Demonstrated experience in managing paid media campaigns, budgets, and ROI

Experience supervising and developing staff, freelancers and/or contractors

Clean driving record and the ability to safely operate company vehicles (we like to drive around town – you won’t always be stuck in the office!)

BONUS POINTS:
History of working in a media agency and have served lifestyle clients

Proficient in design, layout and production using Adobe Creative Suite (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)

Dog lover! (we have a couple that work with us part-time)

Willing to play kickball or softball on a nice day with us : )

Salary commensurate with experience and past portfolio
